About
Local music deserves a great player
Streaming apps treat your own files as an afterthought. Trove is built for the people who still keep their music — collectors, audiophiles, and anyone with a NAS full of albums.
Why we're building Trove
The Mac used to have great local music players. Today the classics are aging: some are macOS-only and rarely updated, others never felt native, and almost none of them follow you to your iPhone. Meanwhile your library — the FLAC rips, the purchases, the albums on your NAS — deserves better than being sideloaded into an app built for streaming.
Trove is our answer: one native player, built with SwiftUI for macOS and iOS, that treats local and network libraries as first-class citizens.
What we're focused on
Trove does a few things exceptionally well: it plays every format you own, it reaches your music wherever it lives — folders, WebDAV, SMB, NAS — and it feels truly nativeon both the desktop and the phone. We'd rather do these essentials right than do everything halfway.
Our principles
- Local-first. Your files never pass through our servers. No account, no tracking, no cloud middleman.
- No subscriptions. The core player is free; Pro is a one-time purchase you make once and own forever.
- Native or nothing. Real SwiftUI apps that respect each platform — menu bar and media keys on the Mac, Siri and background playback on iPhone.
Trove Player is independently built and currently in active development. If that resonates, join the waitlist — we'll let you know the moment it's ready.
